Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU) is a vibrant academic institution located
amidst the rural landscapes of southern Tamil Nadu, boasting a sprawling campus
spanning 550 acres. Established by the Government of Tamil Nadu on September 7th,
1990, the university serves as both a teaching and affiliating institution. Its primary aim
is to address the educational requirements of the communities residing in the
southernmost districts of Tamil Nadu, namely Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Tuticorin, and
Kanyakumari.
The university holds an 'A' grade accreditation from India's National Assessment and Accreditation Council, signifying its high standards. Governed by the University Act, the Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education operates independently of the university's jurisdiction, offering courses acknowledged by the Distance Education Council of India.
