The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is a prominent open schooling system in India that provides flexible and inclusive education options. Established by the Government of India, NIOS aims to offer education to a wide range of learners, including school dropouts, working professionals, and individuals with special needs. It provides opportunities to complete primary, secondary, and senior secondary education, along with vocational courses. NIOS focuses on personalized learning, allowing learners to study at their own pace and choose subjects according to their interests. With its recognized certifications, NIOS empowers learners by opening doors to higher education, employment, and lifelong learning, making education accessible and inclusive for all.
NIOS Class 10, also known as the Secondary course, can be taken by anyone with age 14 and 8th class pass certificate. It allows students to pursue their education at their own pace. The students can select 5 subjects from approximately 32 subjects (including languages) and prepare for the exams whenever they want. The learners receive an SSLC Certificate upon completion of this course. This course is helpful for working professionals and those who ended their school education in the middle
The final examination is conducted twice a year in the month of April and October.

NIOS Class 12/ Senior Secondary Course, can be taken by anyone with age 15 and 10th class pass certificate. It assists students in completing their higher secondary education through Distance Learning. Participants can learn at their own pace and take their exams whenever they want. The course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of working professionals and those who have dropped out of school but wish to advance in life through education.
The final examination is conducted twice a year in the month of April and October.
15 years or over.
The candidates should send the complete scanned academic certificates from SSLC to the given mail address. The incomplete or unclear certificates should be rejected from the selection process.
The academic documents will be forwarded to the University for Verification
Within 7 working days, the documents will be verified and the selected candidates will be intimated through Email and the candidates will be registered in the University. In this step, the originals of the certificates should be submitted to the university.
